Embracing imperfection and finding light within the fractures of self.

There are moments in life where trying to hold everything together becomes more exhausting than letting it fall apart. A Beautiful Kind of Broken was born exactly from that tension — the space between control and surrender.

This composition didn’t come from a place of clarity. It came from fragmentation.

For a long time, there was this instinct to fix everything — to hide imperfections, to reshape what felt incomplete, to chase a version of self that could be “whole” in a conventional sense. But the more that effort intensified, the more artificial everything began to feel. The cracks didn’t disappear — they deepened.

And then something shifted.

Instead of resisting the fractures, I started observing them. Not as flaws, but as openings. The idea that something broken could carry light is not new — but experiencing it internally is something entirely different. That’s where this piece lives.

The phrase “a beautiful kind of broken” is not about romanticizing pain. It’s about recognizing that imperfection is not the opposite of value — it’s often the source of it. Every line in this composition reflects that transition: from control to acceptance, from hiding to revealing, from fixing to feeling.

Lines like
“every crack I hid away”
and
“not the whole I tried to fake but the truth within the break”
represent that moment of confrontation — when you realize the version you were trying to preserve was never real to begin with.

There’s also a strong sense of stillness throughout the piece. Not a passive stillness, but an active one — the decision to stay present with discomfort instead of escaping it. That’s why the repetition of
“you don’t need to fix it… it’s already enough…”
becomes almost like a mantra. A release.

Musically and emotionally, the composition follows this same arc. It doesn’t rush toward resolution. It unfolds. It allows space. It breathes. Just like the idea it carries.

At its core, this is not a song about breaking.
It’s a song about what happens after you stop resisting the break.

Because sometimes, what we try hardest to repair is exactly what was meant to open us.
